Terms

The terms, in plain English.

What this is

Bowel Brief is an editorial newsletter and website for adults dealing with chronic constipation. By using bowelbrief.co — whether you read an article, download the 72-Hour Reset Protocol, subscribe to the newsletter, or chat with the Constipated Concierge — you agree to these terms. If anything here doesn't sit right with you, please don't use the site.

Editorial, not medical

Everything we publish is general health education. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and reading it does not create a clinician-patient relationship between you and us. Always talk to a qualified clinician about anything specific to your body, your symptoms, your medications, or your conditions — especially before adding a supplement, changing a medication, or trying a new protocol.

If you experience any of the following, treat them as a medical situation and seek care: blood in your stool, rectal bleeding, severe abdominal pain, fever combined with constipation, persistent vomiting, unexplained weight loss, new sudden bowel changes if you are over fifty, or a family history of colorectal cancer combined with new symptoms. The Constipated Concierge is configured to refer you to a clinician immediately when it sees these signals — please listen to it.

Affiliate links

Some product links on this site are affiliate links. If you click through and buy something, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We disclose this relationship clearly throughout the site and on every product card. You can read the full affiliate disclosure for the details, including which networks we work with and how we choose what to recommend.

No warranty

We work hard to make Bowel Brief accurate, useful, and current, but we publish it "as is" and make no warranty about completeness, accuracy, fitness for any purpose, or non-infringement. Research evolves; product formulations change; what works for one body may not work for another. Use your judgment, and use a clinician.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bowel Brief and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, the newsletter, the Reset Protocol, or any product we link to. Your sole remedy if you are unhappy with the site is to stop using it and unsubscribe.

Your account-free use

We don't make you create an account to read the brief, download the Reset, or chat with the concierge. The most personal piece of information we ever ask for is an email address, and even that is optional unless you want the newsletter or the PDF. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

Acceptable use

Don't use the site or the concierge to harass, defraud, scrape at scale, attempt to extract our subscriber list, impersonate us, or do anything illegal. Don't reproduce our editorial content elsewhere without permission. Don't use the Reset PDF or any article as marketing collateral for a product or practice without asking us first.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page is the version of record. If we change anything significant, we'll mention it in a brief.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator of Bowel Brief resides. Questions, disputes, takedown requests, or anything that needs human attention go to [email protected].
