About

A brief that actually helps.

Bowel Brief is an editorial newsletter for adults living with chronic constipation. We read the studies, vet the products, and write what actually works — without the medical jargon, the influencer fluff, or the awkwardness that usually surrounds this topic.

Why anonymous?

This isn't an embarrassment niche by accident. Most of our readers wouldn't tell their best friend they're struggling with constipation, let alone a stranger on the internet. So we don't ask. We don't collect names. We don't show faces. We just write the brief — and trust the work to speak for itself.

What we do (and don't) cover

We focus on chronic, functional constipation in adults: pelvic floor dysfunction, slow transit, IBS-C, magnesium and motility supplementation, fiber strategy, hydration, the gut-brain axis, and lifestyle changes that move the needle. We don't cover acute medical emergencies, pediatric care, or anything you should be discussing with a clinician — and we'll tell you when it's time to do that.

How we make money

We're transparent about it. Some product reviews include affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products we'd use ourselves and we explicitly call out the duds. Eventually we may add a paid tier with deeper protocols and a digital product, but the weekly brief stays free.

A note on medical advice

Bowel Brief is editorial, not medical. We cite the research, but we're not your clinician. Always talk to a qualified GI or primary care provider for symptoms that persist, escalate, or accompany blood, severe pain, or unexplained weight loss.
